Gucci Experience

Greetings!

So lately I've been trying to look for a clutch-like purse to carry to evening parties. With 4-5 weddings coming up this year, I figured I should change up my purse. The purses I have in my collection are more for everyday use, so they are bulky. Big enough that I will fall off my chair if I had it sitting behind me.

Question is (well there are many questions really) which brand? And on what budget? What colour? What style? What material? You get the idea. It's like asking yourself what to wear to go out for a nice dinner. Except it could take hours trying to figure this one item out.

First thing, I had a budget set. I knew I didn't want to spend over X amount of dollars, so off I went online shopping on various brands. I started off with Louis Vuitton, then Prada, then Chanel. And I fell in love with the classic double flap bag (or what they call the "Reissue"). This was the perfect evening bag that I was looking for. Only problem is...the price. I remember seeing the same bag a couple years ago and I thought it was pretty mad already. But this was already an increase of 10% minimum. In only 2 years! But what I've also learned is if you decide to go the luxury brand route, their products have an annual increase on pricing. Some are twice a year. Highway robbery much?

Anyways, I tried finding used Chanel bags online and they were still expensive. North of $4,000 if you want a really good used one. So I knew this wasn't the right route for me. Keep on looking.

I didn't find much at Prada or LV. Then it hit me. Gucci! I totally forgot. I hit up their website. The first few scrolls, I was turned off immediately. The bags were bland, and they were pricey. But I didn't give up. I kept scrolling until I saw one that I knew was the one. It's called the Emily Chain Shiny Guccissima Leather shoulder bag. Like what in the world! It was love at first scroll. The price was reasonable, and the colour was just right. I searched online to see if it was available in stores. The search turned up NOTHING! How is that possible?! I was about to call the store here but figured if an associate had no idea what I was talking about, they could just say it's unavailable. I figured the best thing to do is to go to the store myself and see it.

So off I go with my girl friend to the Gucci store. We made a quick round at the front and didn't see anything. But wait! There is another section. We turned the corner....AND THERE IT IS!!!

The amount of excitement at that time for me is like having your water broken. And having your kid pop out anytime (of course I can't really relate, but it was a mix of fear and excitement). The sales associate who attended to me (Rachel, lovely girl!) was very helpful in telling me about this purse. The colours, the fabric, the design. She said to take my time in deciding, and gave me her business card along with her cell phone number (no, I was not trying to pick her up). I told my girl friend we should go eat some food first so my brain can think a bit. But really, I didn't want to get the purse and then go eat...in case someone stole it or dropped food on it.

After a while of thinking and eating, we headed back to the Gucci store. She welcomed us back and asked if I was ready or if I was still thinking about it. At this time, I pulled the trigger (not literally), but you know, I said "Ok I'm taking it!"

She went to the back and grabbed the purse and told me to take my time to inspect it. I found that there was a tiny stitching issue which sort of mangled the leather a bit, so I showed her. She was more than happy to go down to the basement and find me another brand new one. So she disappeared to look for it.

While we were waiting for her to get back, I saw the bigger version of the purse and decided to try and look at it more closely. Being the clumsy person I am, I struggled to lift the first shoulder strap (this came with 2 straps), and while I struggled with that, I ended up knocking over the display purse that I was going to purchase. There were maybe 2 or 3 customers in store at that time, with several SAs around and security. Let's just say when a bag of that price falls to the ground, it's a scary moment. My girl friend and I froze in fear, wondering if security or if another SA was going to kick our butt for dropping their expensive bag on the floor. But thankfully nothing happened. It was a bit of a funny moment.

Rachel came back with a brand new bag and once again said to check it over, and to take my time. So I did but this time the bag was almost all wrapped up new. Stitching was perfect. Colour was great, no blemishes. Perfect. I'll take it!

So after all the paperwork blah blah blah, I finally got the purse! I requested to have it put in a box, and she was more than happy to give me one (although the box isn't as sturdy as Prada's saffiano box). Before I left the store, I kindly asked Rachel if I could take a picture with her along with the bag I purchased. She was happy to do so. I told her I take pictures with them when it's my first bag purchase from a big company, for memories sake. She thought it was really cute ^_^

So there you have it! My first experience with Gucci, and it was a very positive experience. Thumbs up!

Check out my youtube channel for an un-boxing and "what's in my bag" review (youtube/yayashi), or what I like to call "how much crap can I fit into this little thing".

It's 2014. Where are the girls and their cars?

You are in your (insert whatever car you drive here), just cruising in the city when you get a text from your buddy saying "Hey _____! There's a huge car meet at ____ and ____! Come check it out! Our car club is heading there in about 30 minutes!"

Great, you say to yourself. Assuming you are a single guy, you get excited because maybe you'll get to meet a hot car chick for once! You are tired of heading to all these meets and all it is, is really a big sausage fest. But maybe just this once, you'll meet someone decent. Someone who shares the same passion as you: the love for cars.

You get to the meet, and once again, most of the drivers are guys. The girls that have attended are either someone's girlfriend or one of those Got Ass? models. Very rarely do you see girls who are single, pretty, and drive their own modified cars. It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack. You still chill around with your car crew before dispersing from the meet to go home and rest up.

Now, you wonder where this is going. I will break it down for you.

I'm a chick who drives a modified coupe. I call myself a car enthusiast. I have attended car meets from the east end of the city to central and then west. I started off attending my first car meet back in 2010. I met some cool people and knowledgeable people (or so I thought) and continued to attend weekly meets. The east end meet died off, and I found another meet closer to home and started attending those meets instead. Once again, I met some nice people. I have attended charity car shows and regular car shows in the past. The guys at the meets all thought I was a nice person and wanted to help me gain more knowledge in the modifying world, which is great. It's like I found some gurus that could guide me into modifying cars peacefully.

But here's the problem. They would want more than just your friendship. And when you reject them, all hell breaks loose. Suddenly, you are dealing with a wailing 6 year old who wants his candy but you refuse to give him any candy.

Would a girl really want to get together with someone who wails and acts like a 6 year old? No thanks. And this is why I don't date guys in the car scene.

Don't get me wrong, there are some decent guys at these meets. But I'd say most of them, if not all, would already be taken. And because of that, I wouldn't want to get close to them; you wouldn't want to send off the wrong message would you?

From a girl's perspective, and one who has been to these meets for a couple of years, there are a few things I can list out why a girl would attend these meets:
1) To interact with others who share the same passion for cars
2) To learn more about car modifications, and how they work
3) To cruise with people who drive the same car as you (like how cool is that?!)
4) To take photos of cars (sharing a passion for photography)
5) To be part of the small community of girls who have a passion for cars

You see, none of the above have anything to do with getting into someone's pants. Then again, this is coming from a car enthusiast who is a girl (and my passion for cars is just one passion).

Now, if I can summarize why guys attend these meets, this is what I observed:
1) To see who has the faster and better car
2) Boosted ego (hey, not just my turbo, but gotta boost my ego too!)
3) To share your vast knowledge of cars, or so you think, but really you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about
4) To meet hot chicks
5) To get laid by hot chicks
6) To start drama and rumours within the circle of the club when hot chicks rejects you
7) To start drama with hot chicks' boyfriend(s)
8) Or if you are really normal, you just go to meet new friends

Basically, it's all about the ego for guys. And you wonder why there are less girls in car clubs/meets.

There's a difference when a girl poses on your car to take pictures in a bikini versus a girl who drives a modified car to a meet and calls it her baby or project. If I was a guy, and I saw a girl pull up in her modified car, I would appreciate it. I believe it is all about the mind set and how you interact with the girl. But this is the sad part. Most guys (not all) do not know how to appreciate that nor do they know how to keep a conversation. The easiest way is to look at the chick as another dude and just start talking to her like if she were a dude. But that could only go so far before you realize this dude still has boobs, wears heels, wears nail polish, and takes a purse every where they go.

All the girl really wants is appreciation. Appreciation for her passion in cars. Appreciation in her knowledge of cars. Appreciation that she wants to learn more about cars (if her knowledge does not surpass yours already). But most importantly, appreciate who she is.

So the next time you see a girl at a car meet, don't go running to her with your pants down your legs and your ding dong drooling all over the place (so to speak), and hope that she may fall in love with you. Because I guarantee you that will not end well. Instead, get to know her as a person first. She is human, she has feelings too. Oh yeah, put your damn ego under your bed before you step out of the house. Showing off your car knowledge to her until she dies from boredom is not going to win you points. Communication is a two way street, so you have to hear her out as well. And if you decide to help her out with modifications and installations (and continuously telling her she doesn't need to pay you back for anything), don't expect anything more than a hug or a high five in return. Especially if she has no interest in you as a potential date. If she is a great friend, then I really hope she would at least take you out for a meal.

So to all the guys out there, who let your ego get the best of you: You need to change the way you act around the ladies. I'm not saying go and change yourself, but you can change the way you interact with others and change the way you react to situations. We are raised and live in a society that is all about violence, swearing, being the biggest thugster, being dominant, and letting your ego get the best of you. You want to be the unique one? You do the exact opposite of what was mentioned above.

The hot chick at the car meet rejected you? Or the hot chick decided to go out with someone else? Don't react by swearing at her or by spreading rumours about her etc. That is grade school reaction. You want to be a real man? Then act like a real man. Accept it and move on. Other guys are acting like jerks and being stupid? Or having e-penis wars online? Don't join in. The more you feed the fire, the bigger the fire. So unless you want to burn yourself, then I suggest you stay away from that non-sense.

To the ladies out there, who are car enthusiasts and attend car meets and clubs, I applaud you. There are not many of us out there so I high five each and every one of you for being brave and being a part of a male dominant hobby. Show the guys your on-going projects, and continue to do what you love to do: modifying cars.
To the ladies who are car enthusiasts but who have not attended any meets or clubs, I encourage you to check it out if you have any meets or clubs available in your area. If you don't want to go alone, bring a friend or someone you really trust to go with you. If you are married, I hope to God you wear your wedding ring, and bring your husband. If you are single but don't want to get hit on, wear a ring anyways. What I'm saying is, be prepared for some leg humping. But also prepare your minds as well. Don't let any of the sweet talking get to you.

I am thankful for the good and bad experiences from the meets I've attended. I've met people who were nice, backstabbers, liars, thieves and plenty of douche bags. There are plenty of acquaintances but no good friends in the end. All I can say is, my car meets and clubs are behind me, and that is one chapter of my life that will close.

Cheers!

1/18 SLK-class by Minichamps (Review)

I purchased this from Prestige back in Dec 2008. It's my very first Minichamps model and my very first hard-top-drop-top. This is the second generation SLK by Mercedes-Benz (2004 edition) which came in 4 different engine sizes (1.8L I4, 3.0L V6, 3.5L V6 and 5.4L V8) and either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic.

Minichamps has done a great job replicating the 1:1 SLK. The most unique feature is the folding hard-top which can take quite some time to get used to (it even comes with instructions). I'll try to break it down into categories as I do this review.

Exterior
What can I say? It looks like the actual 1:1 SLK! Every curve is replicated with precision. The headlights are well done, doors/engine bonnet cover/trunk close with no problem. My pet peeve for this model are the Benz decals at the rear (on the trunk) and on the centre rims. Because they are decals, they can easily fall off (the one on my rims fell off quite easily), so cleaning/dusting the car can be a challenge.
Here are some exterior shots:

Interior
The seats are leather-like (although not really leather), the floor is carpeted, seatbelts are realistic, and the dashboard and centre console are detailed. You can even see the emergency light button in the middle (you know...that orange triangle button!). Another detail that Minichamps decided to add is an opening/closing centre console, equipped with a cell phone in it (see pictures)!

Engine
I guess a lot of cars in the millenium have a lot of plastic covers that cover the whole engine compartment, so there's a lot of plastic in the engine area, although Minichamps did add a few little details here and there (like labels). Otherwise, good job on the engine!

Paint
I really like the paint that Minichamps used for the SLK. It's a glossy finish and along with its sexy curves, it really brings out the car as a whole (especially in the blue). It's a car that screams "SEX!!" So far I haven't had any issues of scratched/chipped paint and dusting the car is quite easy, because of the gloss.

Hard-Top
Now this is a specific category that only applies to hard-top-drop-top models. Being my first convertible with a retracting hard-top, I can't compare to other models (say, M3 Cabrio by Kyosho). I can tell you though that it is quite a delicate piece of machinery. The screws that fold/hold the trunk together are incredibly detailed and amazing.
With the hard-top down, the roof stores snuggly in the trunk. The roof folds into 2 big, separate parts. The rear glass feels quite flimsy - it sort of swings back and forth - but once the roof snaps into place, the glass is fine.
Speaking of snapping roofs, when the roof is raised, there are 2 tips (shaped like a circle) that you'd have to connect to the top of the windshield - they snap together. It would be easier if they were magnets (like those found on the Carrera GT by AUTOart), but I guess the snapping would make the roof more secure. However, because they are plastic, they could easily break - especially if you like to raise/lower the roof frequently. As a model collector, the best thing to do is to leave it in one position - either have the roof up or down. Or if you display your cars in a display case, you could leave it in the transition form (refer to picture #3 below), but it's best not to play around with it too much as it may break.
Here are some shots of the trunk area:

And here is the sequence of the roof going up:
1

2

3

4

5

6
Just to summarize...

PRO
-incredible detail
-light-weight
-hard top feature
-glossy paint
-it's sexy

CON
-hard top can be a challenge, especially with its delicacy
-the car doesn't quite sit on all 4 wheels properly (I guess there's some issue with the suspension on mine since it came like that)
-decals can fall off easily

In conclusion, Minichamps did a superb job with the SLK. The details are there, the folding hard-top is unique, the glossy paint is great and it's not too heavy. For all the collectors out there, it's a must have (especially if you're looking for something unique in your collection).

Challenger: 20 years later

January 28, 1986, Kennedy Space Centre: Space shuttle Challenger will be launching with 6 astronauts aboard, plus the first time ever, a civilian Christa McAuliffe. This will be the 25th space shuttle mission.

As the Challenger launches into space, crowds gather below to witness this wondrous event. Students at many elementary schools and high schools watch this event unfold in class. Cheers are heard in the control room at Kennedy Space Centre.

73 seconds later, Challenger explodes.

This was not a bomb, nor a terrorist act but a major malfunction in the shuttle's main fuel tank.

Now, 20 years later, many remember this event. What was suppose to be a space mission turned into a disaster within seconds.

McAuliffe was the first civilian to ever board a space shuttle. She was here on a "Teachers in Space" program, in which she beat out 11, 000 other applicants to win the space shuttle trip.

The 6 astronauts who boarded this ill-fated flight were: Francis Scobee, Gregory Jarvis, Ronald McNair, Ellison Onizuka, Judith Resnik, and Michael Smith, all having degrees in engineering and physics.

We won't forget the efforts these people put into space missions. Thanks for being such wonderful friends.

a bunch of randomness

first off......

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO XENIA!!!!

second.......
minus 36 days till i die.....i mean ARCT piano exam
ok, now for my random thoughts...

Karla Homolka, who took part in the sex slayings of 2 teen girls back in 1992, and also confessed to the slaying of her own sister (Tammy, 15), is being released this July. Her ex, Paul Bernardo, is serving a life sentence for the 2 murders. My thought? I was about 6 or so when i first heard of the murders. Looking at the picture of the couple made me sick to my stomach. I had hope that both would serve a life sentence, and would never be released. But look now. Karla. Free. What has society turned to? The courts heard that Karla and Paul murdered Tammy but yet they were not formally charged with her murder, just the 2 murders of the teens. What the heck is up with that? Not enough evidence? Dude, they took videos of the rape. Isn't that enough evidence? And now she's being set free. To some, it won't matter because, hey, she is human and humans make mistakes. Hopefully being in jail for 12 years or so will teach them a lesson, but you never know if they might commit a murder again. The judge should lock both up for life.

Recently i read the article on Cory Newton, a registered sex offender, in the Toronto Star. What the heck, sodomizing young boys for his own pleasure. For 12 years, he committed sex acts with young boys. What did the courts do? They released him. Once he was on parole, he committed more sex acts with young boys, befriending them, then ditching them once they hit puberty and finally, moves on to younger boys. Seriously, Canada should start learning from America. I know for a fact that most people don't want pedophiles walking the streets, especially in your own neighbourhood (but of course, you wouldn't know until it's too late). But hey, Canada's getting more stupid when it comes to jailing murderers, sex offenders, pedophiles, list goes on. They should think twice before releasing someone who committed a serious act. They should think thrice before releasing a repeated offender.

Now, on with Shakespeare. I hate Shakespeare. Never learned anything while reading his books. and i never will. Presentation tomorrow on 2 pages, and i literally have to translate every line. like what the heck.

Prom. Well, certainly this year has been interesting. Wait, that really doesn't match but whatever. With all the shuffling around, people getting angry at one another...Let's just hope n pray that things work out on prom night. It's suppose to be our "special night" but of course if things don't work out as planned, then so be it. One thing that i hate is: dressing up and walking in heels. Oh right, and trying too hard to look nice. Perhaps, even smell nice.

Oh right, drove from downtown to home on Sunday, with my G1. sooo illegal? well not really. at least mom was beside me, but yelling at me x__x. Was i really that scary of a driver? well..maybe the occassional running stop signs, abrupt stops, abrupt turns, turning too fast, swerving, speeding (wow went over by 40 km/h), and backing out the driveway...i didn't realize i put the car into reverse; car's moving, and me, not knowing what the heck just happened =D. Ok i guess i AM a scary driver. I'm gonna fail my G2 =P

hmm just got a phone call from some random guy. on my cell. I'm like...hmm..don't recognize the #, so i say...hello?! he's like...who is this? (in some mean tone) i'm like..uh you got the wrong number...*hangs up* RUDE BASTARD! because you called me twice, i'm gonna broadcast your number: 647-290-2752 (prank callers, remember to hide your number ok?). I know, i'm mean, but i'm in no mood to feel sorry for that guy. I've already had tons of wrong numbers calling me. But this was probably the worst one.

Should i trade in iPod mini for a PSP? HMMMMMMmmmm......

Oh crap i can't believe exams are next month. CAN YOU ALL BELIEVE IT?!?! OUR LAST EXAMS FOR HIGH SCHOOL!!! WHOOOOPEEEE!!! psh it's not like i'll miss them anyways, but i'll definately miss each and every single person that i've met all 4 yrs *SNIFF* damnit i'm close to tears..must think happy happy....

Friday: House of Wax. Starring: Elisha Cuthbert, Paris Hilton, that Chad guy, and some no name people =D who's in?
Took a walk last week after dinner. played bball wif Alley and Monkey. oo fun times =D yes girls win 15-3!! TSK TSK mike! jk jk. dropped my phone while playing, and darn it's all scratched up =( but it still works =) yay go Samsung!
Well, this should be plenty. 2 quizzes, 1 prez and 1 test left as of this week x__x time to keep up the marks!
cheers ya'll =)

hahaha funny lol

ok, i was reading this on someone's MMTO account (meetmeinto.com)...and i found this to be errr quite..funny. very creative indeed. maybe when i have a kid, i'll use the same explanation for him (not sure about the 'her' part haha). check it out:

SON SAYS: Daddy, how was I born?
DAD SAYS: Ah, my son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway!
Well, you see your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on MSN.
Then I set up a date via e-mail with your mom and we metat a cyber-cafe.
We sneaked into a secluded room, where your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive.
As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a blessed little Pop-Up appeared and said: You've Got Male!

anyway, i thought that was creative =P

Death and Resurrection...3 days later

This entry is for those who are interested in the Christian faith. You can read it if you want, or if you don't want to, it's ok too. I'm not here to convert anyone lol. Just here to share my readings/sermons, since some people may have doubts or questions.

As some of you may know, today is Easter Sunday. What exactly is it? Bunny rabbits hopping around the field, giving eggs to people etc etc? To most of us, it's easter bunnies. To some, it's the day Jesus Christ rose from the dead.

What is the resurrection? It's when someone died, then rose again, hence Jesus dying (for our sins) then rising from the dead. This entry will be mostly on the resurrection of Jesus.

The resurrection is the cornerstone of the Christian faith. Without the resurrection, there would be no Christianity. Verse 1 Corinthians 15:1-20 says: "Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you-unless you believed in vain. For i delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time. For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. Therefore, whether it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed. Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? but if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up-if in fact the dead do not rise. For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable. But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep."

There are three lines of evidence in support of the resurrection: the empty tomb, the post-resurrection appearances of Jesus, and circumstantial evidence.

1) The Empty Tomb
Liberal Christian scholars and skeptics accept the fact that the tomb of Jesus is empty. But, rather than believing that Jesus rose from the dead, one of the ways they try to debunk the resurrection is to find an alternate explanation for the empty tomb. some theories are:
-Disciples of Jesus stole his body
-Swoon Theory
-Hallucination Theory
-Roman authorities took the body
-Jewish authorities took the body
-disciple (Mary Magdalene) went to the wrong tomb
-Identical Twin Theory

Theory A: Disciples took Jesus' body!
First, the disciples had no reason to steal the body. Stealing Jesus' body would only mean suicide if they were caught. However, we know from Acts and records from the early church fathers that most of the disciples died because of their preaching about Jesus. We also know that in Acts, the disciples spoke with boldness and fearlessness about Jesus (Acts 4:1-13). Without the resurrection itself, the disciples would have no reason to preach about Jesus. Rather, if they stole Jesus' body and made up the story of the resurrection, then not only did they deliberately preach a lie, they also died for it. People may die for something they believe to be true. But nobody would die for something they KNEW was a lie. Logically speaking, this theory makes no sense.

Theory B: The Swoon (Resuscitation) Theory
This theory states that Jesus did not die but fainted from exhaustion, was thought to be dead, was taken down from the cross, was buried, but revived in the cool of the tomb, then managed to break out of the linen wrapping, push away the stone, break past the guards and meet his disciples, who wrongfully jumped to the conclusion that He died and rose again.
1) How does a person who is crucified die? (John 19:32-33, 38-39)
-A person who is crucified does not die from bleeding or pain, as commonly thought. Rather, they die from asphyxiation. Normally when a person breathes in, the diaphragm muscle contracts (requires energy). This creates a negative pressure in the lungs and air rushes in. To breathe out, the diaphragm muscle relaxes and air moves out passively.
-When someone is crucified and held in an upright position, gravity pulls the diaphragm down. This puts the person's lungs in the "inspiratory position." In order to breathe out, the person must use his legs to pus up and ease the stress on the diaphragm muscle. Once the person breathes out, he can relax again and diaphragm will drop down due to gravity. This will go on until the person no longer is able to push up to breathe out because of exhaustion. When this occurs, the person suffocates and dies.
-when Roman soldiers want to speed up death, they would break people's legs. why? they would no longer be able to push up with their legs to breath out. In John 19:32-33, this happened to two criminals who were beside Jesus. It was obvious that Jesus was dead that the soldiers didn't break his legs.
2) It was noted by John that after Jesus died, a Roman guard took a spear and pierced Jesus' side, causing blood and water to spill out.
-when people die, the blood cells and plasma separate due to different densities. When a person is alive, blood circulates, creating a homogeneous mixture (one phase). when someone dies, plasma floats to the top and blood cells settle to the bottom (heterogeneous mixture; plasma is lighter in density). Thus, you get a mixture of blood and water. It seemed likely that the spear either struck Jesus in the heart or hit a major blood vessel. In light of present medical knowledge, this testimony is significant because it shows that Jesus was in fact dead, and dead long enough for the blood cells and plasma to separate.
-point to note: John recorded this event; the recording of this detail supports the authenticity of the Bible
3) the physical condition of Christ
-before being crucified, he was arrested (for saying that he was the Son of God; John 19:1), beaten/flogged. second, during NT times, people had to carry their own cross if they were to be crucified, but someone else had to carry Jesus' cross for him because of his condition (poor). third, he was crucified (Mark 15:24). fourth, a soldier thrusted a spear to his side (John 19:34).
-assuming that Jesus did not die, but instead fainted, He was wrapped in linen, placed in tomb, large rock covering entrance. From here, Jesus would have to break out of linen, remove stone, then break past the soldiers. When he found his disciples, his condition would have been so poor physically that his disciples would never have worshipped Him as God, but rather feel sorry for Him.
-from a medical standpoint, Jesus was dead. From a logical standopint, there's no way Jesus would have made it out of the tomb, nor be able to convince His followers that He was God, given His physical state.

Theory C: Hallucination Theory
This theory states that the disciples were so confident that Jesus would rise that they eventually believed that it happened, when it fact it didn't. (ie the idea that Christ rose was a wish fulfillment)
-Even if they had hallucinated, then began to preach that He rose from the dead, the Christian movement would have been stopped after the Roman/Jewish authorities presented Jesus' dead body.

Theory D: Roman authorities took the body
-Romans had no reason to steal Jesus' body. They wanted to keep the Jews quiet and keep any rebellious uprisings to a minimum. The last thing they would do is steal Jesus' body and make it look like He resurrected because this would have promoted the spread of Christianity. If they did take Jesus' body for whatever reason, all they had to do was produce His body when the disciples began preaching that He physically rose from the dead.

Theory E: Jewish authorities took the body
-Jewish leaders had no reason to take the body. Throughout the gospels, the Jewish leaders have been plotting to kill Jesus due to their own jealousy as well as fear that Jesus might cause an uprising that would cause the Romans to step in (Matthew 27:62-66). It was the Jewish authorities who wanted to have a guard posted for fear that Jesus' disciples might steal His body then claim that He rose from the dead. They had no reason to steal His body. If they did steal it for whatever reason, all they had to do was produce His body when the disciples began preaching and Christianity would have come to a halt.

Theory F: The Wrong Tomb Theory
This theory states that Mary went to the wrong tomb and since she did not see Jesus' body, she thought He rose from the dead. She then told disciples, who then believed, and they began preaching the resurrection.
-If this is what happened all the Jews/Romans needed to do would be to present the body of Jesus, and Christianity would have died in its infancy.

Theory G: The Identical Twin Theory
This theory states that Jesus had an identical twin. After Jesus was cruficied and died, the disciples saw His twin and came to the conclusion that He rose from the dead, and began preaching.
-problem: there is no historical basis for saying that Jesus had a twin. Even if He did have a twin, theory wouldn't work because: Jewish/Roman authorities could have still presented Jesus' body, then the disciples would have known that Jesus is dead and that it was His twin that they saw OR his twin would not have fooled the disciples because they would have memories of intimate details of shared experiences.

Conclusion: none of these theories hold weight either from a logical or a scientific point of view. For this reason, it can be concluded that the resurrection is the most reasonable explanation for the empty tomb of Jesus.

2) The Post-Resurrection Appearances of Jesus
-there were eye witnesses who claimed to have seen Jesus AFTER his death, thus furthering the case for the resurrection. it is summarized as follows:
-to the women (Matt 28:1-10)
-to the disciples (Matt 28:16-20)
-to the two disciples on the way to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-32)
-to the 11 disciples and others (Luke 24:33-49)
-to Mary Magdalene (John 20:10-18)
-to 10 disciples plus unbelieving Thomas (John 20:24-29)
-to Peter, James, Paul, and over 500 disciples all at once (1 Cor 15:1-8)

3) Circumstantial Evidence for the Resurrection
The willingness of the disciples to die for their beliefs, as attested to by both secular and church history. When Jesus was crucified, his disciples scattered. However, within a short period of time, they began to preach that Jesus was God. This was done in a hostile environment; the same hostile environment, which had Jesus killed in the first place (Jerusalem). The rewards in which the disciples received were less than apealing to the average person: ridiculed, threatened, mocked, beaten, tortured, killed for their preaching. But despite all the negative effects, they were willing to die for their beliefs. why? because they knew beyond all doubt that Jesus really did resurrect and what He said was true about heaven and hell. Thus, they were willing to go to their deaths to preach this truth.

Well, this brings about the end of resurrection. It's a essay i know, but this is only part of the Christian faith (ie there's still: salvation, sin, heaven/hell, Trinity, Authenticity of Bible, Creation/Evolution, Fossilization..list goes on). Since today's Easter, i just decided to share some stuff, and what exactly does the Christian faith focus on. Anyway, hope your eyes didn't get sore after reading all that =P

cheers everyone
and
Happy Easter =)
